In 2001, Mike began competing with his front-engine dragster in the Nostalgia Eliminator 1 and 7.0 Pro Class. Competing at Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, CA and Sacramento Raceway, his passion for the sport grew. He continued racing for eight years before finally becoming frustrated with continuously breaking out of his index.

Need For Speed
Mike's desire to go faster led him to reach for the next level of drag racing. In 2009, Mike received his Top Fuel license at the Texas Motorplex. With the help of Urs Erbacher Racing, a Top Fuel Team from Switzerland, Mike licensed in their championship dragster. With a Top Fuel License secured, Mike began setting his eyes on building the first-class race team that he always dreamed of having.
Mike and the Scrappers Racing team made their Professional Nitro Top Fuel debut at the 2011 Fram Autolite NHRA Nationals in Sonoma, California. Since then, he has been joined by two of his four daughters, Jasmine and Jianna.
Competing in 3 separate categories—Top Fuel Dragster, Pro Stock Motorcycle, and Top Alcohol Dragster—Scrappers Racing continues to build on their family's legacy in racing and promote their passion for the sport together.
