A former Minnesota State Wrestling Champion, Jimmy is a second-generation racer competing in Pro Stock Motorcycle. Watching his father, former Pro Stock Motorcycle racer Greg Underdahl compete, Jimmy hoped to follow in his father's footsteps. In 2010, Jimmy made his professional NHRA debut in Pro Stock with 2 final round appearances and 3 semi-final appearances. 

With his father acting as his Crew Chief, the Father-Son duo joined Scrappers Racing in 2021 as the 2nd Pro Stock Bike to be added to the operation.
