BACKGROUND
As a kid, Mike Salinas was introduced to racing by his father, who raced his hot rods during the 60’s and 70’s at Fremont Drag Strip and Little Bonneville.
Mike began competing in the Nostalgia Eliminator 1 and 7.0 Pro Class from 2001 to 2009. In 2009, he received his Top Fuel license at the Texas Motorplex. He made his professional debut in NHRA Top Fuel in 2011. In 2021, he made his Professional debut in a second category, Pro Mod, competing in the NHRA E3 Spark Plugs Series. He finished his 2021 season 3rd in National Standings.
Today, with two daughters of his four daughters now racing alongside him, Mike has grown Scrappers Racing into a full-time family operation. Traveling the circuit together, you'll often see the entire family standing in support behind each of the drivers at the starting line.
When he's not at the track, Mike leads Valley Services, a family-run business that has been catering The Greater Bay Area for over 30 years.
